Georgia Trend Magazine Selects Georgia Transmission for Annual Award
Georgia Trend has selected Georgia Transmission Corporation for the magazine’s 2010 Honor Roll of the Best Places to Work in Georgia. Georgia Transmission builds and maintains the high-voltage power infrastructure on behalf of 39 of the state’s 42 electric membership cooperatives (EMCs).
Since 2005, Georgia Trend has invited employees from all levels of an organization to recognize their company by submitting nominations on the magazine’s website. “Every year we have found that employees value the chance to be part of a community that treats them well, utilizes their skills and gives them the opportunity to do good work,” said Susan Percy, editor of Georgia Trend.
This year, the magazine selected 10 companies for the honor from more than 200 nominations, representing a cross-section of industries from around the state.
“Our employees are essential to accomplishing the mission we carry out every day of providing reliable power to our member EMCs,” said Mike Smith, president and CEO of Georgia Transmission. “This distinction is one that makes us especially proud. To know that our employees feel valued and that we maintain a professional environment that reinforces our commitment to them is a real honor.”
Each company is featured in the November 2010 issue of Georgia Trend. Carroll EMC, one of the 39 EMCs served by Georgia Transmission, was also selected for the honor. The story and full list is available online at georgiatrend.com.
