Energy Information Administration (EIA) Kids Page by the US Department of Energy is a site that started out as a class project. The class was the Energy Industry Study Program, and the students were actually 16 employees of EIA. For 12 weeks in 1998, they increased their knowledge of energy issues facing the nation, especially as seen through the eyes of industry. They went on visits to a power plant, a refinery, a coal mine, and a waste-to-energy facility. They also had discussions with guest speakers. As a class project, the 1998 class took on the tasks of developing a Kid's Page on the EIA Web Site.
