Chip Jakins, president and CEO, Carroll EMC (right), and Gary Miller, president and CEO, GreyStone Power, are set to explore the Silver Comet Trail in Paulding County along with Bubba McCall, project manager, Georgia Transmission Corporation (GTC) and Susan Ingall, GTC environmental and regulatory specialist. The three presented a check for $3,000 to Ed McBrayer, executive director, PATH Foundation (center), Thursday, May 27, at the Rambo Trailhead, Silver Comet Trail. Use of the trail continues to grow as the surrounding population increases in GreyStone Power and Carroll EMC territories. To keep pace with growth and the associated demand for electricity, GTC will construct approximately $100 million in power lines, substations and equipment in Paulding County and around the state in 2004. The 57-mile Silver Comet Trail, maintained by the PATH Foundation, accommodates cycling, walking, running, rollerblading and even horseback riding.
