National Trade Magazine Features GTC Siting Study

Tucker, Ga. -- A new transmission line siting method developed by GTC and the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) is featured in the February issue of Transmission and Distribution World.

The article describes a new approach to site selection and a new data management system that are already influencing the way utilities site power lines. Two Kentucky utilities have adopted the new approach before the research report was released.

The GTC-EPRI Transmission Line Siting Methodology report is due out this Spring. Gayle Houston and Christie Johnson, GTC's project managers, point out that the new method greatly improves productivity, reduces cost and has made GTC's siting decisions more objective, consistent and defensible.
