Georgia Transmission Reelects Board Officers

TUCKER, Ga.-- The Georgia Transmission Corporation (GTC) Board of Directors reelected officers at its annual meeting March 21 in Atlanta.

Four officers who will serve one-year terms are: chairman -- Charles Fendley, chairman of the board, Amicalola EMC; vice chairman -- Ray C. Jones, Jackson EMC director; secretary -- Roy Tollerson, Jr., Diverse Power director; and treasurer -- Steve E. Rawl, first vice president, Okefenoke Rural EMC. Each GTC officer has served in the same position since 1996.

The officers serve on GTC's 13-member board, which is composed of five electric membership cooperative (EMC) managers, six EMC directors and two directors not affiliated with the EMCs.

In addition to Rawl, three directors reelected to GTC's board were: David Dunaway, Middle Georgia EMC director -- southwest member regional director; Rick Gaston, Colquitt EMC general manager -- southwest regional manager director; and James Hubbard, former manager of Carroll and Oconee EMCs -- outside director.

Georgia's 42 EMCs are member-owned electric utilities that deliver electric service to nearly half the state's population across more than 70 percent of the state.
