Georgia Transmission Corporation Re-elects Board Officers
TUCKER, Ga. (March 31, 2008) -- Georgia Transmission Corporation’s Board of Directors re-elected officers at its board meeting held March 31 in Atlanta.
The three officers who will serve one-year terms include: chairman – Charles Fendley, chairman of the board, Amicalola EMC; vice chairman – Steve E. Rawl, first vice president, Okefenoke Rural EMC; and secretary-treasurer – Roy Tollerson, Jr., Diverse Power director. All three have served as GTC officers since 1996.
The officers will serve on GTC’s 13-member board, which is composed of electric membership cooperative (EMC) managers and EMC directors from around the state, as well as two directors who are not affiliated with the EMCs.
Georgia’s EMCs are member-owned electric utilities that deliver electric service to nearly half the state’s population across 73 percent of the state.
GTC is a not-for-profit cooperative owned by 39 electric membership corporations (EMCs) in Georgia. The corporation owns more than $1.4 billion in assets, including nearly 2,800 miles of transmission lines and 600 substations across the state.
