Electronics maintenance engineers

Assists in providing technical expertise to the System Control Center, which monitors and controls the substation equipment within the electrical distribution and transmission stations. Assist in providing technical support to the field technicians who install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair the statewide SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and the corporation’s remotely accessible revenue metering package and telecommunications equipment.

Typical major sought: B.S. in Electrical Engineering.

Substation maintenance engineers

Assists experienced engineers in the commissioning and maintenance of protective relay and control equipment in the corporation’s substation facilities. Tests protective relays, verifies wiring, troubleshoots circuits and performs control checks in accordance with the design.

Typical majors sought: B.S. in Electrical, Agricultural and Mechanical Engineering.

Line maintenance engineers

Assists with the administration of the maintenance management system to track maintenance activity and schedule work orders for all GTC transmission lines, substations and electronic assets. Assists group lead with analysis of existing maintenance data to identify trends and opportunities to improve reliability, cost effectiveness, or maintenance practices in the Operations and Maintenance Group. Works with experienced associates to gain understanding of field maintenance activities and to become familiar with transmission line and substation system.

Typical majors sought: B.S. in Industrial and Electrical Engineering

Energy control system technician

Administers and conducts scheduled/corrective maintenance and commissioning on the remote revenue metering system, energy control system and the telecommunications system.

Typical majors sought: A.S. Degree in Electronics or Telecommunications; B.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology.
