Environmental specialist I

Performs siting, environmental and regulatory activities of multiple concurrent transmission/utility projects. Identifies regulatory requirements, obtains regulatory permits and gains regulatory approvals. Works on teams with engineers, designers, land agents, environmental and regulatory coordinators, technicians, construction and maintenance inspectors and other personnel on specific assignments.

Typical majors sought: B.S. in Urban and Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science and Geography.

Land agent I

Participates in the routing and siting of transmission facilities. Assists with contacts and negotiations to secure survey permission and property rights for transmission facilities. Reviews and aids in the preparation of land acquisition documents and construction releases. Assists with the research and examination of public records to determine ownership and legal status of property to be surveyed or acquired.
