Design engineers

Performs physical design, grading and site design, or structural design of electrical power substations or transmission lines. Assists in the creation of drawings, specifications and contract documents to be used for construction, fabrication or site grading. Assists senior engineers in research, engineering studies and the evaluation of materials.

Typical majors sought: B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Civil, Industrial, Agriculture, or Mechanical Engineering.

Protection and control engineers

Selects and applies specific protective relaying and control schemes and designs, detailed electrical relay and control packages which conform to Corporate Protection and Control policies. Conducts short-circuit calculations for GTC distribution substations. Prepares Preliminary Design Single Line (PDSL) diagrams for the distribution projects.

Typical major sought: B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
